Police have announced that they have arrested two more people in connection with a suspicious blaze at 'Britain's wonkiest pub'.
The Crooked House in Himley, West Midlands, attracted visitors from across the globe due to its unique slant, with one side 4ft lower than the other.
A fire ripped through it in August just days after it was announced Marston's Brewery had sold the building to a private buyer for "alternative use". Police are treating the blaze as possible arson.
A 34-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, both from Leicestershire, were arrested on Wednesday (September 27) on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent or being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
Staffordshire Police said the pair had been released on conditional bail while its investigation continues.
Three others, a 66-year-old man, a 51-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, are still on conditional police bail after they too were arrested in connection with the incident.
On August 7 what was left of The Crooked House was demolished. South Staffordshire Council said the full demolition was "not agreed or deemed necessary" and added that enforcement action could now be taken against those who bulldozed it.
After a "specialist fire investigator examined the scene", the force said "we believe the fire may have been started deliberately and police are now leading the investigation".
On the recent arrests, Staffordshire Police said in a statement: "We have arrested two more people as our investigation into the fire at the Crooked House pub continues.
"Yesterday, we arrested a 34-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, both from Leicestershire, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent or being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
"They have both been released on conditional police bail while our investigation continues.
"The 66-year-old man, the 51-year-old man and the 33-year-old man, who were all previously arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, remain on conditional police bail at this time.
"We are still asking those people who might have information which can help us to get in touch if they haven’t already."
